I fast for 72 hours in January every year. Some of the years I only cut out solid foods but other years I only drank water for those 72 hours.

It is part of our goal setting and focuses our attention on the year ahead. It is initiated by our church. The first 24 is usually difficult for me and I get headaches. I also find that I must work on my “mood” and concentrate not to feel too sorry for myself. That is because I usually eat regularly during normal days, 4 or sometimes 5 small meals(sometimes snacks) during the day.

Sometimes, during the fast, I experience that my mouth gets dry ”more sticky” and also that it feels like my teeth get a “fuzzy coating” on them, if that is the right way to describe it.
