How we watched the “show” that eventually thumped us.

In the beginning, it felt like a show that I was watching. Images and stats of China appeared on nearly all the networks. We were only spectators. Bewildered by this wave of infection.

If I think back now, I cannot explain why we did not prepare better or at least talk more about it. It was as if it was a reality TV show and I was safe on my side of the television. Not thinking!! Not wondering what could happen. Afraid of being a…….. Prophet of DOOM.

I’ve watched a few Prepper video’s and I always thought it was sort off good information but it would never happen. I’m still asking myself if it is happening? What is the right thing to do?

Not panicking, just acting responsible, thinking, planning, contemplating the future.

We were sitting here in South Africa and watching the “show”. Our first case was only confirmed on the 5th of March. It was a 38-year-old male who visited Italy.

Did we see enough of the “show” to know how to react?

By that time Coronavirus hotspot, also known as Italy, had already 2500 recorded infections and 79 deaths. Also knowing the 2500 recorded infections could only be the tip of the iceberg. Should we have done more? screened and tested every traveler…
